Eric Hart for District 3 Mendocino County Supervisor
“My priority is strengthening the foundation of county government so it operates efficiently, transparently, and with a culture that encourages everyone to ‘find a way to yes.’”
“
Together, we can thrive.
At its best, local government enables good things to happen: to help residents open businesses, build homes, create jobs, and strengthen our communities. It’s what county employees want too. Unfortunately these days, too many residents feel like the county is a barrier instead of a partner.
I want to change our county's systems and organizational culture towards a mindset of “Find a Way to Yes” — ensuring safety, fairness and compliance — all in service of helping people move forward.
why eric’s running
he’s Deeply invested
“Applying the skills I had developed in the corporate world to real community problems over the last 10 years turned out to be deeply fulfilling, and that sense of purpose is ultimately what led me to run for the Board of Supervisors.”
Too many people today experience the county as a barrier instead of a partner. County government is the foundation everything else stands on. Without a stable, well-run organization, every program and priority becomes harder than it needs to be… and too often, it fails.
We’ve seen the Board struggle for years to make progress because the fundamental systems the county operates on, are broken. Building systems that work is what he has done for 25 years. In corporations, small businesses, and local nonprofits, He’s helped align leadership, clarify accountability, improve transparency, and design systems and processes that deliver results. He wants to take that experience and apply it to our county.

Eric’s PositionS
I believe county government should make systems work better for the people they serve.
The idea is simple enough, but getting it done isn’t.
Click below for details about how we do this with regard to the economy, housing, public safety and infrastructure, the environment, and healthcare.
People’s frustration with our county government is a reflection of systemic and leadership problems, not the dedication of frontline staff. There is nothing more demoralizing than working in a broken system.
